My 95 Single Turbo Supra

Well I guess I have to start from the beginning when I tell this story.  This was all started by my best friend Terry Choi.  He waited outside of a car dealership for several hours to find me this black on black 6 speed Supra.  He took me for a test drive in one about 2 weeks prior and from then on I was hooked.  Above is the picture of his car and mine.  On June 16, 1998, exactly one month after my birthday, 2 days after the Chicago Bulls won their 6th NBA title, 32 days after graduating from University of New Orleans, I bought my Supra.  I wasn't sure if I could afford the insurance, but I had this itch that would not stop.

From then on I started with my mechanic Lester from Toyota of New Orleans and my buddy Terry and we began the modification stages. We put on the Greddy Power Extreme exhaust, RS Akimoto Intake, Cross drilled rotors, Hawk HPS pads, Greddy front strut bar, Cusco rear strut bar, Blitz BOV and NR gauges.  Then I had to move to Pittsburgh to go work for a Microsoft Partner.

When I lived in Pittsburgh, I was bored out of my mind and I began to learn more and more about Supras.  I went ahead and put my BCC, MBC, boost gauge in myself.  @ 60k my clutch decided to say goodbye since I put Terry's RMM DP on.  It was pretty hard trying to decide to keep the car after Terry passed away but I did it in memory and respect of him.  Look at who I met while I was in Pittsburgh.  You all might recognize him....  I met Angel Robles Jr on a business trip down to Orlando.  He demonstrated the potential and power a Supra has if properly harnessed.  My eyes were opened and never could they be shut again.

I tried the Dot.Com for almost a year in Salt Lake City.  I drove the Supra cross-country and it was a very nice ride.  While I lived in Salt Lake City, I didn't have the funds to put into my Supra.  On my way to Salt Lake City I met a couple of other Supras.  I stopped in Chicago and met with their local group.  Mike and Ron are cool guys.  In Salt Lake I met up with Biggy, Mr Tommy Wong and Trinh Le.  I had to let her sit until the day I was asked to return back to New Orleans.  That was early 2001.  I came to Toyota unannounced and there Lester was just like I pictured he would be 2 years later.  I knew the time was coming... Almost everything was in place... everything but the person to confide and support me.  That person came shortly.. ;)

I also opened up a local Supra chapter organization.  In this group we have several interesting guys.  One is Rich Baratta.  He has a PHD in engineering.  He has helped tremendously with my modifications.  He always seems able to make something work out of nothing.  The other person who has helped me a lot is Sean McShane.  He is a former autmotive painter but his logical and tedious mechanical skills makes me sick.  With the help of Lester, Sean, and Rich and with the support of my loving wife Katie, the car went from 320 bhp to 727 bhp.  Click on this link for latest pictures of my car with the new paint job.

I also had the help and technical support from another Supra group I made up called the MKIVtechnical group.  Lance Worlab has been an awesome source for very hard to find answers.    Steve Vache spent numerous hours on the phone with me to help fix or sometime lend an ear to listen to my complaining.  But I cannot forget my boys at Garage Advance  Angel, Pat and Al supported SidWin by putting in a GA complete fuel kit.  I couldn't have done it without them.  Click on the link below to read and see the story one of person finishing a dream.
